Heritage Week 2007
February 19th to 25th

This year's theme is Vernacular Heritage - Architecture without an Architect.

Monday 19th 7:30 am - Opening Breakfast at the Kelowna Art Gallery, Ellis Street. The guest speaker is Pat McCormick.
Monday 19th 1:30 pm - Presentation to City Council

Wednesday 21st 1 pm - Meet at the Orchard Museum in the historic Laurel Packinghouse, Ellis Street, and join a tour of the museum followed by a walk to the Military Museum and the Kelowna Centennial Museum.

Thursday 22nd 7 pm - Central Okanagan Heritage Society 25th Annual General Meeting at Benvoulin Heritage Church, and presentation of 2007 Heritage Awards. The guest speaker is John Raybould, who will be giving a lively presentation titled "About the House", a nostalgic overview of various aspects of domestic social and cultural history from a century ago when Kelowna was still very young.

Saturday 24th 1 pm - Walking tour of downtown museums, starting at the Orchard Museum in the historic Laurel Packinghouse. Book signing at the Military Museum.
Saturday 24th 3 pm - Afternoon tea hosted by FRAHCAS at the Lightbody's, 2302 Abbott Street, with guest speaker Mary Pynenburg, Director of Planning for the City of Kelowna

Sunday 25th 11:30 am - Downtown Kelowna Association has organised a Heritage Walk with Doug Schram. Meet at the Bennett Clock.
Sunday 25th 1pm - Afternoon tea hosted by KSAN at Knowles House, 865 Bernard Avenue.
